Alberto Soraci

President

MBA, LUISS University, Rome, degree in Economy at the University of Messina. He has got more than 12 years of experiences in identification, starting and developing of national and international projects, dealing with research cooperation, scientific development and technological innovation. He is qualified in Politecnico of Milan and Area Science Park of Trieste, as an expert of technological transfer, he supported many companies in the process of technological transfer and he was also involved in the start-up of new companies.

Andrea Trevisi

Vice-president

Andrea Trevisi deals since 1998 with Technology Transfer (TT) and Competitiveness: he started as broker and later became team-coordinator at AREA Science Park, Trieste.

Since January 2010 he is responsible of Technology Transfer Service in Basilicata; Basilicata Innovazione is actually a project, fruit of the partnership between AREA and Regione Basilicata. In Basilicata Innovazione Mr. Trevisi is in charge of TT activities, from their starting up to their full speed regime, throughout the leadership and the training on the job of 12 technology brokers- as well as of the whole structure. Final result during 30 months and until 30th June 2012, was the auditing of more than 600 enterprises and the birth of 350 innovation projects with local enterprises.

Andrea Trevisi is a teacher for Technology Transfer Building Courses and has been member of several Evaluation Committee for R&D projects on a regional and national level.

Maurizio Caradonna

Treasurer

Maurizio Caradonna is the Business Development Manager for Innovation Factory, in-house company of the AREA Science Park Consortium of Trieste, National Public Research Institution. He deals with technology transfer and coordinated systems for territorial economic growth based on valorization of research results, the creation and development of innovative enterprises. He previously worked as a marketing manager for biomedical enterprises and is a member of the Users Committee (formerly the Scientific Committee) of CBM, the Cluster in Biomedicine of Trieste.

Has obtained a Bachelor degree in Biology at the University of Trieste and a Master degree in Innovation and Technology Transfer at Politecnico di Milano.

Stephen Taylor

Member

Mr. Stephen Taylor has over twenty years experience, most of it as a Director or Senior Consultant, helping major firms and government agencies in Europe and North America to access the latest knowledge and expertise for analysis and planning for new business, market research, new product development, and technology commercialization. His collaboration with Area Science Park, Trieste began at the beginning of 2009, in the Technology Transfer Department, with responsibility for strategic measures to optimize the activities of the Department. In September 2009 he became Director of the Department. Since January 2010 he sits on the board of Innovation Factory Srl, the in-house incubator of AREA Science Park, with specific responsibility for business competitiveness and internationalization and in May 2010 he was named CEO.

Paolo Cattapan

Honorary member

Paolo Cattapan - Honorary member, not member of board of directors.

In 2009 he founded the project Basilicata Innovazione - which he actually leads.

In 1996 he joined AREA Science Park- Trieste , where he launched and led Technology Transfer Service until 2009.

Between 1980 and 1995 he worked as industrial consultant, free lance professional person, member and Chief executive of TECNOMEDIA Srl (Udine) and TEKNOMEDIA INTERNATIONAL Srl (Milano): his main activities deal with Technology Transfer, Information, Corporate planning, Industrial management and Innovation.

In 1969 he was employed by Danieli Spa in Buttrio (UD) where - in addition to Department tools - he dealt with very first regulations for the funding of applied research. He left Danieli in 1979, after gaining the Chief Executive position of two of Danieli's enterprises placed in Maniago.

He graduated with honors, in 1968, in Chemical Engineering by Università degli Studi of Trieste.
