ETRERA 2020 PRIZE: Do you think your innovation project has been particularly successful? Promote it by participating to the ETRERA Prize competition!
ETRERA 2020 is organizing a call for proposals to showcase the most innovative projects and is inviting all the organizations to present their innovation projects made by collaboration between academia and industry that they consider to have been particularly successful in three fields of renewable energies: wind, solar and smart grids.
- The winners will be awarded the ETRERA_2020 PRIZE for the most innovative project in their category.
- The winners will be awarded a trip to Istanbul, Turkey, to receive the prize and present their project at the “Best practices” workshop.
- On top of that, the project will become a best practice of ETRERA 2020. The lessons learned that will emerge from the winners will be included in an “e-Handbook” that will be distributed to the research and industry sector active in renewable energy.
- ETRERA 2020 will also help to promote the winning organizations to potential investors for their new projects!

The report presents the result of a survey done in 33 countries in Europe. In total, 6,280 responses were received from European academics and HEI management (HEI managers and HEI professionals working with industry) whilst from Italy, 419 responses from academics (324) and HEI management (95) were received. The study measured the perceptions of these two groups in respect to their own cooperation efforts and those of their university respectively.
The study done with the Italian Association of Technology Broker support presents a clear picture of the complex scenario on the University – Business Cooperation in Italy an makes a clear comparison with the European situation offering useful reflection points in order to find out the gaps to be filled in the future.
Also this year the AIBT will assist in the organization of the Technology Transfer Professionals` track at the 2014 University-Industry Interaction Conference.
From 23th to 25th of April 2014, the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) and the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP) will host the 2014 University-Industry Interaction Conference on "Challenges and solutions for fostering entrepreneurial universities and collaborative innovation" in Barcelona, Spain.
With more than 300 participants, the conference will be the leading international discussion forum for academics, researchers, practitioners and business representatives on university-industry interaction, where theory and practice are equally emphasised in the programme, which consists out of keynote presentations, track sessions, workshops and sight visits. During this three day conference high emphasis is placed on networking opportunities and creative space, as well as skill development workshops (executive education), delivered by EADA Business School, one of Europe’s leading Business Schools.

We are now calling for proposals/abstracts for presentations, papers, posters, tracks and discussion roundtables on the themes of the conference. We would like to encourage you to submit conceptually or empirically focused proposals as well as practitioner papers (e.g. case studies). All papers will be double-blind reviewed and published in the conference proceedings (with ISBN number), with selected papers being published in our associated journals (e.g. Industry & Higher Education, Journal and the International Journal of Technology Marketing). FETRIC: a tool for the support of bilateral scientific cooperation between the European Union and Tunisia
TUNIS, TUNISIA, 18th SEPTEMBER 2013 – Today the FETRIC project kick-off meeting concluded, shifting the three year cooperation project from the conceptual towards the actual implementation by deciding the next steps to be undertaken.
The FETRIC project aims at a progressive strengthening of bilateral cooperation in research and innovation, particularly within the context of Horizon2020, supporting amongst other things, a policy dialogue between the EU and Tunisia. The project will give special focus to the innovation processes in order to cope with the main Tunisian societal challenges - such as Scarcity of resources, Energy (specifically renewable energy and energy saving) and High quality affordable food.
FETRIC will take a bottom-up approach by accumulating project feedback, which will be used in preparing a roadmap for future STI (Science, Technology & Innovation) cooperation.
FETRIC is a great opportunity for strengthening European - Tunisian Cooperation. In fact, FETRIC will continue on the path of the previous ETC project. FETRIC will contribute to pave the ground for fruitful cooperation activities in the research & Innovation field, leading to solutions able to overcome societal challenges, not just in Tunisia, but in the whole of the EU and North African regions.
FETRIC will target the EU and Tunisian research and innovation chain by:
- analysing the whole Tunisian STI system through the setting up of a link among actors belonging to the scientific, technological and the innovation communities;
- improve the quality and number of partnerships involving both researchers and entrepreneurs;
- create a research and innovation network in the North African region;
- boost the participation of the Tunisian research centres and enterprises in the forthcoming program Horizon 2020.
